 Our company is committed to designing high performance Yankee hoods for the tissue machines and special paper machines, operating at speeds up to 1500 meters per minute, which is using advanced European technology. Our hoods can produce high-efficiency, and energy-saving which can be used for the production of a majority of Yankee-dried products. Foreign experts will assist in the whole project starting with the design, and continuing through the manufacture, installation and commissioning.

Yankee hoods normally have two parts, namely the dry end hood and the wet end hood. Each hood consists of air distribution chamber, blow box, the exhaust chamber, retraction device, insulation layer, and the out skin, etc. Yankee hood has the following characteristics:

- Hot air impingement provides extremely high rates of heat-exchange and mass transfer which leads to drying rates up to ten times higher than those available in conventional dryers
-The special design of the blowing nozzle can eliminate the sharp whistle and reduce the noise.
-Hood supply air and the natural gas are pre-heated by the hot hood exhaust, which improves the energy efficiency and reduces the drying energy consumption.
-The web dryness is well controlled by dampers installed in wet hood and dry hood.
-The tending side and drive sides have peripheral exhaust to prevent air leakage.
-The energy required to compress hot hood air is converted to heat that contributes drying of the product.
Two types of the Yankee hood are presently used in the industry: gas combustion hoods and the steam-heated hoods. According to client’s desire, Westtech can supply either type of the hood. Yankee hoods can use one of two types of the ventilation system: dual system and single system. The main parts of the ventilation system includes the circulation fan, exhaust fan, air supply fan, heating unit (gas or steam), heat recovery unit, air duct etc. Westtech’s ventilation system for the steam-heated hoods is equipped with the on-line washing system to maintain good heating efficiency.
